Looking for Providence Hotels?
Pick the location, price and amenities that fit your needs. Start by deciding if you want to stay downtown, close to WaterFire, performing arts venues, Providence Place Mall, universities and the Italian restaurants and bakeries on Federal Hill. Rates at downtown hotels are not as high as in larger cities. And you might find some bargains on the weekends when business travelers check out. You might also want to consider one of the city’s smaller “bed and breakfast hotels,” one of the many hotels near the airport or hotel bargains in nearby Seekonk.
Providence Hotels by Category
To make it easier to find your perfect hotel, I’ve divided the listings into 4 categories:
Downtown, you’ll have several lodging options, from the historic and beautifully restored Providence Biltmore to the charming Hotel Providence. Many of these properties are within walking distance of the city’s restaurants and attractions.
Keep in mind that the “Providence” airport is actually in Warwick, a few exits from downtown. Near the airport, you’ll probably find a better room rate as well as free parking (and maybe even a complimentary breakfast). You can drive into the city in less than 15 minutes, or get to Newport and the popular South County beaches in less than 45 minutes.
Bargain “Providence” Hotels
Depending on the day of the week and time of the year, you may find low rates at several downtown hotels. However, you’ll probably find even cheaper rates just outside Providence in Seekonk.
Although Seekonk is actually in Massachusetts, you’re just about 10 minutes from downtown Providence and a bit closer to Newport. You will also save money with free parking (and free breakfast in most cases).
Bed and Breakfast Hotels
For a different type of lodging experience, try one of the 6 bed and breakfasts in Providence and surrounding areas. Accommodations, amenities and prices vary.
